My Working Boy!

This week's Dogs on Thursday, is all about Cooper, my little working boy. One day last week, we had terrible thunderstorms in the morning as I was getting ready for work, and poor Cooper the Coopie Baby was really in a bad way. I gave him one of his "doggie downers", but he was still pacing and trying to dig under all of the furniture, and the forecast was for more storms all day, so I just couldn't leave him. What to do... Take him to work!
I still don't have a boss, so there was no one to clear it with, and working in the library of a museum, I don't have any contact with the public, so it was a no-brainer. I packed him some toys and blankies and bowls and treats and poo bags and off we went to work! Emma and Tara didn't mind at all. I think whey were happy to get Cooper out of their hair for a day! Coop was such a good boy.I can't honestly say that he got very much work done, what with all of the naps he took...

... but he's not the only one who naps here. This is a picture of one of the temporary workers sent to us from the county's summer youth program.

Even the ringing phone didn't wake her up.

Yay! Fred really enjoyed the days when he came to work, back when we did that once in a while to make him feel special. Of course, Mugsy was a fixture here for a while, and I just love it when the girls come to work...

Might Cooper be a working boy more often?

awe!! I used to take Jackjack with me to work and it was so great! he was so good and would just lay on his bed behind my desk and if I left the room he would stand at the door and wait for me to return! Such good pups!

Amazing that Cooper seems to have gotten more work done than they summer help - even without thumbs.

I have taken my dogs to work on occassion and it's always a great day. g

Frisky is also terrified of storms, so I can sympathize. It's nice that you could take Cooper in with you!

And omg - hilarious napping intern ;)

Summer interns are so helpful....

It would be so cool to have dogs at work. I think it would be helpful for our mental health patients.

How great! I think people should be allowed to bring pets to work more often.

My pups come to work everyday with me and I love it. They snooze when I work, or nuzzle my hand, I take them for potty breaks and if it is cool enough a walk at lunch time. It is great fun!

Since we're self employed, we've always taken our mastiff to the office when we go. Employees like a gentle giant, we enjoy having him around, and he's so big he was useful in taking care of salesmen. After all, they don't know he just wants a hug!
