Special Guest for Dogs on Thursday

While I was on vacation last week, I got together with a bunch of friends for a crab fest. No, I didn't eat any of them. You know my rule -- "no food with a face" -- and just look at those cute little crabby faces...
One very special girl at the party is today's special guest for Dogs on Thursday. This is Brandy, a sweet and lovable girl, who is crazy about corn on the cob.......and crab meat! This is a picture of mom feeding Brandy a handful of crab meat.
Of course, this was before the biting-of-the-finger incident. Mom is doing much better, by the way. She says the finger is much less painful now than it was before the surgery. Go figure.

That was the first thing I noticed - all fingers intact! Glad she's healing nicely.

My grown daughter, Brandy, has always accused me of giving her a golden retriever's name. I guess I'd better not let her see this.

I haven't had a crab fest since I lived in southern MD and we could get a cooler full of crabs with some old chicken parts. It's good to hear that Mom's finger feels better.

What a sweet puppy, but I do agree about not eating things with faces.

Mmm, corn! We had a crab here yesterday, but he's smiling and playing with his bear now. ;) Glad to see that Mom is out of digital distress!

I love the look on Brandy's face when she's eating the corn on the cob :) So sweet!

Cats are wonderful creatures until you need to do something to them -- bathe them, give them medicine, actually anything they don't like -- and then suddenly they've grown into a wildcat. So sorry your mother was bitten, but I'm glad she's doing okay.

Hate to say it but the shrimp and crab look delicious. I love crab, but I won't eat lobster any more because I don't like that they're dumped alive into the pot. Same thing for the crab, but I do eat them. I think the difference is that when I was a little girl and would go to the store with my mother there was always a big lobster tank and I would stop and watch the little guys. I didn't know back then what would happen to them. Maybe if there had been crab in with them, I wouldn't eat crab either. But, I have no sympathy at all for shrimp. The bigger the plateful, the better.
