Confession Time

After this post from last week, Silfert from the Music, Knits and Cookies commented :

"Wait... you mean, things can be FINISHED?! Before starting OTHER things?!"
In the beginning I basked in the glory of Silfert's praise. Ahh, that felt good. Until I realized that I don't deserve it. Not even a little bit. So, it's time to come clean.

Me: Hello, my name is Dianne and I'm a cast-on-aholic.
You: Hello, Dianne.
Me: It's been four hours since I last cast on a project.

Ahh, that felt good. I hereby resolve to finish one thing before casting on any other projects. You all can help keep me in line, right? Great. I will finish one of the items below, and post it here as photographic evidence, before casting on any more projects.

I will either finish this Hearts and Stars blanket,

or finally, finally sew these pieces into a sweater,

or this market bag,

or finish this sock,
or this sock,
or this sock,

or this sock,

or this sock-yarn blanket.

Wait, who am I kidding about that sock yarn blanket. That sucker's never gonna get finished!

Or, I could finish one of the two pair of slippers that I cast on after I took these pictures yesterday. I know...my bad!

Anywhoooo, on a totally unrelated note, does anyone thing this photo can pass as a finished sock?

Anyone...anyone...Beuller?

Heh, heh, heh! I dare you to come to MY house! Just from my usual seat in the main room, I can see seven or eight UFO's. I am truly horrible. Ooo, THAT pattern looks like fun! Let's see, needles are in this drawer...

You are hilarious. I totally get what you are saying and I LOVE the sock yarn blanket. I want to start one, in fact I may have cast one on already....

BTW, I've nominated you for an I LOVE YOUR BLOG award. Come by and check it out.

Since sock yarn doesn't count as stash, and doesn't count when you're on a yarn diet then surely socks don't count as UFOs?

Seriously though - I'm meant to be not casting on (I even said so on the blog) and then I cast on for my Secret Santa prezzie... Oh well.

Ha! You're a grown woman. Knitting is a fun hobby. Cast on all you want.

And I wouldn't care to wear that last sock, but if you want to call it an FO, cast on for something else!

It's really terrible when a new skein of sock yarn finds its way into my house. I want it to feel welcome, right? I only have 3 pair on the needles at this moment, two that need me to pay attention and one travel pair. I don't think that's too bad. And a shawl that needs the edging done and that's all. For me, a project monogamist, it makes me edgy.

And I thought I had it bad!

p.s. that pink sweater is going to be adorable!

p.p.s. That last sock is...uh...slightly unfinished. ;)
